One of LCU’s favorite sons will now roam the sidelines as Head Football Coach. In a press conference today at LCU, Award winning Wildcat alum Ben McLaughlin was named Head Coach for the ‘Cats football team.

Looking at Coach Mac on paper he seems like the obvious choice. But, it’s his love for the school, this community and the desire to raise his children and future grandchildren here.

Coach Ben spoke on God’s timing as the reason for this opportunity. “There have been opportunities, but this is the time for this”, McLaughlin said.

McLaughlin is set to begin calling current commitments and expresses that every day is a day spent recruiting. Whether it’s new players or those currently on the team, “we spend every day recruiting”

One thing is certain, this will be an exciting brand of football. Coach McLaughlin loves to run a wide-open offense. It’s going to be fun to watch him get his players and system in place.
