The Tioga Indians are set to embark on an exhilarating 2024 football season under the experienced leadership of Coach Kevin Cook, who is celebrating his 10th year at the helm. With a mix of new challenges and familiar rivals, the upcoming season promises to be one filled with anticipation and excitement for both the team and its dedicated fan base.

Coach Cook, a seasoned and respected figure in the Tioga community, has consistently led the Indians to success over the past decade. Under his guidance, the team has developed a reputation for resilience, strategic play, and a strong sense of unity. Last season, the Indians posted an impressive 8-2 record, advancing to the second round of the playoffs, and they are determined to build on that momentum this year.

One of the most notable changes for the 2024 season is the addition of five new opponents to the schedule. These new challenges are complemented by a revamped district lineup in 2-4A, with the Wossman Wildcats and West Ouachita Chiefs joining the fray. While the Indians will miss facing the Neville Tigers, who have moved to district 2-5A, the new matchups are expected to bring a fresh competitive edge to the season.

The non-district schedule also features some exciting additions, including the Sterlington Tigers, the Leesville Wampus Cats, and the Richwood Rams. These teams bring their own unique styles and strengths to the table, promising thrilling games for the Tioga community. Special recognition goes to Sterlington and Jena, both of whom were semifinal finishers last year in Non-Select Division 3. Their inclusion in the schedule is sure to provide challenging and high-stakes encounters.

Tioga fans can look forward to a season opener that sets the tone for the competitive spirit of the year. On August 18, the Indians will participate in a scrimmage against South Beauregard, giving them a chance to fine-tune their strategies and get into the groove before the official games begin. This will be followed by the highly anticipated “Battle of the Border Jamboree” on August 25, a round-robin event featuring the Winnfield Tigers and Holy Savior Menard Eagles. The jamboree promises to be a night of intense competition, with each varsity team playing two games. The action kicks off at 6:40 PM with a matchup between Tioga’s freshman team and Winnfield’s junior varsity team.

Here’s the full schedule for the 2024 season:
