Rain Can’t Dampen the Fire: Lady Warriors Soar Past Fairview 15-0

A little rain never hurt anybody — especially not the Grace Christian Lady Warriors, who turned a soggy delay into a night of fireworks on the diamond and on the playlist. After a 92-minute weather delay, fans turned the bleachers into a karaoke party, belting out everything from “Blame it on the Rain” to “Raining Tacos.” But once the clouds cleared and the cleats hit the turf, Grace Christian stormed the field with a different kind of thunder — a 15-0 statement win over the Fairview Lady Panthers.

Once the first pitch finally flew, the Lady Warriors wasted no time making up for lost time. Wynnlee Vincent opened the scoring with a laser-shot RBI double, Bella Acree followed with a productive groundout RBI, and Rylee Guillot lit the place up with a towering three-run bomb to center field that brought the dugout to life and the fans to their feet.

If the first inning was impressive, the second inning was a landslide. Grace poured in eight more runs, capitalizing on a mix of sharp hitting and fielding miscues from Fairview. Highlights included Kaylee Smith’s RBI walk, a hustle groundout from Rory Decker, a booming RBI double from Hanna Juneau, and run-scoring hits from Sydney Avery and Vincent again. It was a full-team barrage.

And just when Fairview hoped to catch a breath, Grace brought the curtain down with style in the third. Makala White led off the inning by launching a solo home run to straightaway center — a no-doubter the moment it left the bat. Then, with Smith on base, Guillot stepped up once more, ripping a clean single up the middle to bring her home and seal the 15-0 mercy-rule victory in just three innings.

Guillot’s name echoed on both sides of the scoresheet. In the circle, she was ice-cold — three innings, no hits, no runs, four strikeouts, and just two walks. She faced 10 batters and didn’t let a single one cross first base by way of a hit.

At the plate, she finished 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs, including the home run and game-ending single. Avery, Smith, White, and Vincent all collected two hits apiece, and the Lady Warriors combined for eight stolen bases, with Avery swiping three by herself.

This game was more than a win — it was a message. Weather delay? No problem. Rain-soaked start? We’ll just sing and slug our way through it. The Grace Christian Lady Warriors are built different, and on nights like this, they don’t just win — they entertain.

Now, they turn their focus to the next chapter in this postseason story. Their quest to repeat as State Champs continues. They head to the Quarterfinals to host the Hicks Lady Pirates as The Dash for Frasch rolls on!
