Baton Rouge- According to D1 Baseball’s Kendall Rogers, LSU saw another of its Pitchers enter the transfer portal a day ago.
Cam Johnson, a freshman left-handed pitcher, entered his name in the portal. Johnson was ranked as 2nd best left-handed pitcher and the No. 11 overall player in the nation as a high school senior out of IMG Academy in Florida by Perfect Game.
Johnson struggled to find the strike zone this year and was left off of the LSU Post Season roster, so this doesn’t really come as a surprise. In Just 9 innings of work, he gave up 12 runs on five hits with 13 strikeouts, 16 walks and four hit batsmen. In fact, he hadn’t seen the bump since a May 5th outing against A & M.
It just speaks to the fact that the ERA of NIL and Transfer Portal are forever changing the face of College sports. Here’s wishing a great future to LHP Cam Johnson.
